It's a challenge for Australia to set fresh records.

The greatest achievements have already been conquered.

This is the team that has claimed seven Cricket World Cups, plus an additional six T20 titles, and once went 1,294 days undefeated in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, those for the achievement hunters, are all that remain for a side that has accomplished all there is.

That it took as late as Sunday's success by three wickets over India for them to accomplish their maiden ODI chase exceeding 300, reclaiming their record for the biggest in the female 50-over format, is, honestly, a compliment to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over the past 50 years.

It is hard for their batsmen to hold a record if never given the chance.

In the end, the result of Australia allowing 330 runs was captain Alyssa Healy receiving an opportunity to deliver her latest masterpiece.

Initially recognized as the teenage relative of famous ex Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 trophy-laden years since.

A T20 championship victory came three months after her first appearance and seven world titles have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was named player of the tournament. She made sure her country would not fail again.

The question of whether this recent magnificent innings surpassed that earlier display can be debated.

Many contend the argument supporting the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the challenge that comes when confronting a historic chase and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What is certain is this ton was much more difficult to anticipate.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had been unable to reach 30.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it was a frustrating experience because it seemed I lacked timing completely," commented Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature kick in and you simply focus on the match."

Healy's fighting spirit has consistently been her great strength - and a priceless quality in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was tormented by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's spark.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and after that Healy was underway.

"The possibility to play and face the challenge with her and simply enjoy myself that way, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her fastest at the global tournament - and her hundred in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was out her side required another 66 at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now requiring a leisurely stroll.

"Pursuing 330 is unfamiliar ground so I am glad we have the confidence to accomplish that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to do it another time but, should it happen, we know we can succeed."

That comment will be the final thing Australia's opponents at this tournament need to hear.

In recent days a feeling they will triumph from any situation has only strengthened - this victory following win against Pakistan by 107-run victory despite sitting at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Next Australia play Bangladesh before a match against old rivals England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a last-four spot may well be secure.

It was in the semi-finals they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So strong is her resolve, she later said she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

But while she afterwards confessed those fitness problems have postponed consideration of ending her career, this World Cup is expected to be her last as captain in ODI cricket and she is hasn't yet secured a global event as skipper.

Success in India would take her to the summit of her final mountain.
