Iran is prepared to restart nuclear discussions with the United States on condition that it is handled with "dignity" and "respect", Tehran's top diplomat has announced.

Abbas Araghchi declared solely negotiations produced results, and revealed recent overtures had come from intermediaries to restart discussions with the Trump administration. He asserted Iran possessed no unreported enrichment locations, and Iran had not yet reached a point to allow the UN nuclear inspectorate to access attacked atomic facilities for safety concerns.

Navigating a Difficult Path

Araghchi is walking a complex route since Iran does not want appear to be proceeding from a position of weakness, and he consistently maintained that Iran had arisen more resilient in military terms and mentally from the coordinated strike on its atomic facilities in June.

He was speaking at a strategic meeting in Tehran where he reaffirmed that Iran had "a fundamental entitlement to enrich uranium within its borders that it will always maintain" – the main reason of the deadlock in the prior discussions.

Previous Negotiations Suddenly Terminated

The earlier sessions of talks between the United States and Iran were brought to an abrupt and hostile conclusion on 12 June when Israel, with US support, struck Iran's enrichment centers in a two-week conflict that culminated with Donald Trump asserting the locations had been eliminated. Subsequently, EU nations employed their right to restore UN-wide sanctions, but Iran insists they have not had a major impact.

Magic Solution Proposed

Iran's diplomats stated they felt they had reached a "ideal resolution" to the uranium processing matter in prior discussions, when it was decided an Iran-based consortium with Washington's engagement could process nuclear material. Both sides would have been able to assert triumph since domestic enrichment would have continued and the US could be assured that Iran's enrichment initiative was exclusively peaceful.

It had not been settled in the discussions that US nuclear scientists could function within Iranian territory, but that was a reasonable assumption of the cooperative offer. Diplomats claimed three times they had achieved a deal with the US representative the American negotiator only for the deal to collapse due to "opponents in the US".

Present Position

Iran's diplomats stated the partnership proposal was now off the table, but it seems quite possible the offer could be resurrected in some form if discussions restart.

The American leader in recent days claimed he had been obtaining communications that Iran sought to reopen negotiations, but confidentially Iran's diplomats say they are not yet obtaining clear proposals from Washington either straightforwardly or from key regional mediators, such as Qatar, the Egyptian leadership, the Omani authorities and the Saudi kingdom. The Iran's state department has been charged of passivity in the aftermath of Trump's direct instinctive approach, but Tehran asserts negotiations is not part of a spectacle.

Diplomatic Stance

In his speech to the gathering, aimed to depict the US as a dominant force that misuses the notion of international law, Araghchi said the two-week conflict revealed the conflict could not be ended by military means. He said the attacks began with a US demand for an unconditional Iranian surrender and ended with an unconditional call for a truce.

Iran is certain the opening assaults from Tel Aviv were carried out with complete American awareness and coordination, making confidence challenging to rebuild.

Diplomacy Continues the Final Solution

The foreign minister declared: "It was not Iran that had abandoned dialogue; it was America and the Western nations that had consistently sought to enforce their will during the talks. Dialogue can still be alive and remains the primary solution to address disputes, but its standards, guidelines and tenets must be followed."

"If they speak to the citizens of Tehran with the language of dignity and respect, they will receive a response in the same language."

Repair and Reconstruction

In what is described by Tehran representatives as the struggle of recovery and reconstruction, the foreign minister claimed he was assured Iran's defence capabilities "are considerably enhanced than prior to 13 or 14 June of this year. Every aspect of our defense have been rebuilt. We gained multiple understandings from this engagement; we have come to know our internal vulnerabilities and the vulnerabilities of the enemy."

He continued: "We effectively endured this conflict. Our enrichment knowledge, which they intended to obliterate, stays intact. The installations and equipment, if eliminated, will be rebuilt; what is important is the will of the Iranian people and then the national cohesion that they aimed at, but were unable to destroy. The citizens of Tehran have become more resilient, more cohesive, and more supportive of the administration and the nation in the face of this invasion."
